Breanna Cooper is an Indianapolis native and communications specialist who holds a BA in journalism from IUPUI. Contributing to multiple Indianapolis and national outlets, she worked at the Indianapolis Recorder, one of the oldest African American newspapers in the country, during the COVID-19 pandemic and the 2020 social justice uprisings. She currently serves as a press secretary for the Indiana House Democratic Caucus and is working toward a master’s in history at the University of Indianapolis, studying mass media and journalism during the Reconstruction era.
