Jim King Elected to Board of Directors
CARMEL, IN. – October 9, 2022 – The Lincoln Special is pleased to announce the appointment of Jim King to the nonprofit’s board of directors, which officially began on September 15, 2022.
“I am thrilled to have Mr. King involved with this extraordinary project,” Executive Director Chris Allen said. “Jim brings a voice from Cambridge City where this epic motion picture takes place, and his expertise will be greatly appreciated.” Allen added.
Mr. King is also the current chair of the Economic Development Corporation (EDC) of Wayne County Indiana. Additionally, he is also the CEO of Spoken Giants, LLC the world’s first and largest rights administration company for spoken word “genres” such as comedy, podcasting, and audio renderings of multiple formats. The company provides services as a performance rights and mechanical rights administration company, and provides publisher services for its many affiliated members – comedians, podcasters, and other spoken word rights holders.
The Lincoln Special is an IRS approved nonprofit corporation that is overseeing production the motion picture “Of Tears and Iron”, a fictional account about a former slave that risks his life to pay his respects to the fallen president, Abraham Lincoln. The funeral train carried the remains of the 16th President from Washington DC to Springfield Illinois in April 1865, and is thought by many Lincoln scholars to be the first national period of mourning in the history of the United States.
